This internship aligns with the Cabinet-approved public service graduate programme (established December 2002) to build workplace skills for unemployed graduates. Participants will gain hands-on experience in corporate disclosure, compliance, and regulation, focusing on financial and accounting aspects. Successful candidates must sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement. CIPC emphasizes equal opportunity and affirmative action, with preference for candidates enhancing employment equity goals. Qualifications and SA citizenship will be verified; foreign qualifications require SAQA evaluation. Candidates must be available for interviews as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing corporate disclosure documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to financial reporting standards
• Supporting compliance regulation activities, such as monitoring filings and identifying potential non-compliance in financial statements
• Helping maintain records and databases for the Commission, including updating financial data and ensuring secure storage of sensitive information
• Assisting with research and analysis related to corporate governance, including reviewing annual financial reports and supporting audits or investigations
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team, such as developing tools for better financial tracking or process enhancements

Qualifications

• Unemployed South African citizen
• Aged 18-35 years
• Completed BTech / BCom / B Degree in Accounting / Financial Management (or equivalent)
• No prior work experience
• No previous participation in an internship programme
• Higher education institution graduate with degree/diploma
